Anticipating the challenge, Dr. Caroline Quach, a pediatric infectious disease specialist at the University of Montreal and member of the national advisory committee on immunization, and her colleagues have developed a mobile app to send messages to remind the public about their second dose.

Her research involves manipulating viruses at the genetic level, such that they can then be introduced into a cancer patient where they target a tumour, altering expression of both cancer cells and surrounding cells, essentially pointing the tumour out to the body's immune system.
