1/28/2022 I call for the death of the “better health” resolution. Here are 10 resolutions that aren’t about your health and that you can make—and keep—any time of year.
12/31/2021 Self-care has always been a necessity and not a choice. In the past when I failed to meet that necessity for myself, the consequences manifested as extreme stress, doubt, burnout, and an overwhelming desire to quit.
12/9/2021 There doesn’t seem to be a single aspect of our lives, not the least of which is planning new holiday traditions, that hasn’t been derailed by the never-ending pandemic. How about you?
11/21/2021 Every year in mid-November, I get serious about my HAPPY light, and I’m not afraid to admit it. But for many of us, talking about taking medication for seasonal affective disorder or depression is not as easy.

9/9/2021 How much vaccine hesitancy and COVID conspiracy-theory propagation comes from the fact that most people don’t feel like they have reliable, trustworthy sources for their information?
8/24/2021 As I move into my career as a staff physician, I hope I remember to prioritize time for myself to connect with the very parts of life that make me whole.
8/4/2021 Like most busy physicians, I don’t often take care of myself the way I should. For many years I have “tolerated” an issue that really needed to be managed appropriately.
7/22/2021 I almost didn't make it to class that night . . . He threw punches right at my face. I kept my hands up to protect myself, but it took all my strength to stop the blows. I focused every ounce of my attention on blocking his fists as they came barrelling towards me. He hit hard: He was the same height as me, but at least 50 pounds heavier—all muscle.
