In an inaugural address full of hope, incoming president Dr. John Haggie movingly melded his personal experience coming from the U.K. as an international medical graduate decades ago with his deep love today for his adopted country, and his aim to improve the medical system. A former Newfoundland and Labrador Medical Association president, he said, “Old presidents never die, they simply find another forum to keep asking ‘Why?’ So here I am.”
