It’s been more than a year since a product recall forced formula manufacturing giant Abbott Nutrition to close its Michigan factory in February 2022—and supply problems in Canada continue.
The health minister said that advertising and social media hype had fuelled American demand for Ozempic, and B.C. pharmacies that ship products by mail have enabled it and created an “unacceptable situation.”

By fall 2020 thousands of ventilators were set to be manufactured in response to multiple contracts that were awarded by the federal government in the spring.
Whether its concern over finding hypoallergenic infant formula or store brands that are often cheaper, Health Canada has announced it’s working with domestic manufacturers, as well as looking at alternative sources from other countries.
The sprays are used for as-needed pain relief for those with coronary artery disease suffering pain during angina. The fast-acting medication is taken sublingually.
