The World Health Organization has said that France, Ireland, the Netherlands, Sweden and the United Kingdom have reported an increase in invasive strep A infections in children in recent weeks.
The new system will allow for a person with intellectual disabilities—who may have difficulty understanding and conveying information—to make decisions using the assistance of others who are appointed by the person or the courts.
