Pharmacy Careers

The program, which begins in the fall of 2023, will be Canada’s first French-language pharmacy program outside of Quebec. 

Shawn Bugden, the current chair of the Canadian Pharmacists Association, sets out the association’s roadmap for the year ahead.

When my doctor first told me: “You have type 1 diabetes,” I had no idea how much those words would impact my life and influence my career choices.

The module was developed in collaboration with 16 provincial health regulatory colleges to support awareness and knowledge of health inequity.

The meeting was a chance to introduce the IPPC and discuss Indigenous representation in pharmacy, strategies to improve Indigenous health, and anti-Indigenous racism in pharmacy. 

I love the freedom to go after opportunities as they come up. I love getting a team together, developing a plan, measuring results and celebrating the wins. Every small win is progress for a new project and exciting to see traction developing.

My inability to hear with my ears does not define what I can do. It is my persistence, my grit, my, my will, and my curiosity that makes me who I am—a capable person with a “unique-ability.”

A new study compared pharmacists’ happiness with their work in New Zealand and Canada. It found similar issues—but one country fared better in several key areas.
