For the first time ever, European doctors wishing to work in the United Kingdom will have to pass a different kind of test if they want to see patients: an English exam.

On the door to a Toronto ophthalmology clinic, a sign reads: “No food, no drinks, no strollers, no boots, no grief. Yes sense of humour.”
