Saskatchewan has proposed amendments to the legislative framework that governs the regulatory bodies that oversee healthcare professionals through Bill 120. 

Athana Mentzelopoulos, whose CV boasts senior posts in federal and provincial government, including deputy minister roles in finance and the treasury board in Alberta and British Columbia, takes over from Michael Gormley effective Oct. 1.

The ICBC and Doctors of BC have co-developed a fresh form.

The committee meets up to three times a year and the role is compensated with an honorarium.

The province is investing $5.6 million to get the program up and running followed by $1.5 million in annual funding.
