Pharmacists are already in the trenches, armed with drug knowledge, a shocking tolerance for paperwork and the ability to spot a fake online pharmacy from a mile away (looking at you, “Bob’s Discount Viagra Emporium”). So why aren’t we letting pharmacists do more?

The federal government is cutting spaces for the provincial nominee program in half for all provinces and territories that offer the program.

A new poll suggests more than a third of Canadians say they have no choice but to seek health information online because they don’t have access to a doctor, further highlighting challenges posed by an ongoing physician shortage.

Around midday, Montreal General Hospital was at 213% ER capacity; the Jewish General Hospital was reporting 209% capacity; and the Royal Victoria Hospital, part of the McGill University Health Centre, was listed at 203%.

British Columbians are set to head to the polls on Oct. 19.
