Fluorescing neurons shed light on how brains are wired
First, there was Brainbow, and now there’s Flybow. With Brainbow, researchers at Harvard University developed transgenic mice whose neurons emit a multitude of colours under fluorescent light. They did this by inserting genes from jellyfish and coral that produce fluorescent proteins. - 6/20/2011
