Olympic adventure day 4: loving the locals
The locals have been amazingly friendly and helpful. I struck up a conversation with two families travelling with three small children to the same destination. I couldn't help but marvel at the parents’ disciplinary skills. Especially impressive was how they could, with a straight face, incorporate the word “darling” with “please get off the dirty floor.” I had with me many little Canadian flag pins and they were mesmerized when I gave each of them one. They promised to cheer for the Canucks, as well. - 8/1/2012
