Rexall named one of the Best Workplaces in Canada for 2024

Rexall was named one of the Best Workplaces in Canada for 2024. The pharmacy chain ranked 16th on the annual list of the best places to work from companies with more than 1,000 employees. The rankings are created by the Great Place to Work Institute, which scores companies based on employee surveys, programs for workers and company culture. To be considered for the lists, companies must pay to be certified by the institute as a great place to work. In the survey for Rexall, 88% of its employees said it was a great place to work, above the 60% average for Canadian organizations. A vast majority (97%) said people were treated fairly at Rexall regardless of their sexual orientation, 96% said they were treated fairly regardless of their gender, and 93% said they were treated fairly regardless of their race and ethnicity. Further, 94% said newcomers feel welcome at Rexall, and 94% also said it was a safe place to work. The organization also highlighted its leadership curriculum, which is available to individual workers as well as leaders, its continuous listening strategy to gather and use employee feedback for leaders, and the Rexall Care Network, a not-for-profit that raises funds for caregiver groups. Several other healthcare companies also made the list. Biotechnology and pharmaceutical company Baxter Canada was number 40. In addition to its employee satisfaction rates (at 74%), it highlighted a flexible workplace that includes allowing job sharing, working from home and compressed workweeks that workers can use to get Fridays off. They also offer paid volunteer days and a rewards and recognition program for employees. After that, Alberta-based FYihealth group was 41, Siemens Healthineers, a medical technology company, was 43, pharmaceutical company Pharmascience was 44 and Thrive Group, a non-profit for healthcare charities, was number 47.
