As this season concludes, we will be doing a special two-part recap to revisit the exceptional leaders featured throughout the series highlighting a memorable quote from their article, and will also provide a reminder of the reading habits and educational tools used by those leaders.

Most of the things you do as an entrepreneur are new or things you've never tackled before. Learning, staying humble, and being continuously out of your comfort zone keep you on your toes. It gives you that adrenaline rush that feels invigorating.

My drive comes from my desire to continually show my staff and patients/customers that their loyalty is not misplaced and not unappreciated. My job is to steer this ship forward and keep them feeling safe and protected and cared for in the best way possible. I bear that responsibility and it drives me to be innovative, continually educated, and at the top of my game.

Be sure entrepreneurship is what you want. Self-employment is a viable option for many pharmacy professionals, which gives a degree of freedom without taking on the risks and uncertainty of entrepreneurship. If it is for you, experiment as much as possible. Everybody’s brand of entrepreneurship is different. It is a form of self-expression you must discover for yourself.

I genuinely believe that there is so much opportunity available to make things better, whether it be inside the pharmacy or outside. It has become how I view the world, and when you identify opportunities for greater improvement, those tend to be the ideas worth pursuing.

Instead of acquiring a store then erasing the name, the legacy and the excellent patient care by changing everything, I believed that there was a huge opportunity to acquire the store and not make the changes. I believed that by keeping everything the same, we cherished what the pharmacist had created and kept the value of what that pharmacy provided to its community.

Allergic rhinitis (AR) is a common condition within pharmacists' purview nationwide. As our understanding evolves, pharmacists must stay abreast of changing clinical guidance and emerging evidence supporting medications that fall within their scope.

There is always a place for the pharmacist as a generalist, as the most accessible health professional. It is an asset when members of any pharmacy team, community or otherwise, take on areas of focus in their learning to support each other.
