A critical-care physician in London, Ont., is suing the London Health Sciences Centre for $6.25 million, alleging a covert and improper investigation into his end-of-life care provision.
Following 22 days of deliberation, the jury at Manchester Crown Court convicted 33-year-old Lucy Letby of killing the babies in the neonatal unit at the Countess of Chester Hospital in northwest England between 2015 and 2016.
The deal would allow the company to emerge from bankruptcy as a different entity, with its profits used to fight the opioid epidemic. Members of the Sackler family would contribute up to $6 billion.
Calls to the doctor's office went unanswered, and an email message was not immediately returned. The Associated Press was not able to determine whether she had an attorney.
'It's not an ego trip, it's not a power trip—it’s just validation that I worked hard to get where I am today," said Jacqueline Palmer, one of three California nurse practitioners who recently filed a suit against the state.
