PHILADELPHIA | Induction immunosuppressive therapy appears to be associated with a lower risk of graft loss, even in low-risk kidney transplant recipients who do not receive corticosteroid maintenance therapy, according to a new study by researchers at the University of British Columbia.

The adjuvant-containing vaccine against pandemic H1N1 influenza appears to be safe, but fewer than one-third of kidney transplant recipients showed seroprotective antibody titres following vaccination. Furthermore, the patients who received their transplants less than a year before their flu shot and those on triple immunosuppression showed the poorest response.
