The government does have data on the hours paramedics spend waiting in emergency rooms to transfer patients to the care of a hospital, which are often a key factor in ambulance availability, but won’t disclose it.

The province says the four-year deal features record additional funding of $268 million.

The new funding is on top of $90 million a year from the province to reward ERs that put in place what the government calls innovative solutions to reduce wait times.
