Lessons from 1918
As a pharmacist, the similarities and discrepancies between systems of medicine stood out to me. In 1918, there were very few medications and limited testing of them. Vaccines were not yet developed. Alternative medicine, including use of spiritual practices and herbs, was just as likely to be sought out as traditional medicine.
