No more lip service
When I was 16, there was no way I would have ever believed that one day customers might pay $400 for a ripped shirt. Neither would I have believed that we would pay a few dollars for a small plastic bottle of water when (possibly better quality) water came freely out of a tap. And who would have ever dreamed that dog owners would walk their pets, scooping up their droppings, and placing them in a plastic bag? In the context of healthcare, we have seen equally unlikely changes. - 6/9/2013
Our current apathy won’t help the future of health care
Less than 7% of B.C. physician members voted in the recent annual election for BCMA executive positions. The new president-elect (admittedly a good candidate) was elected unopposed, while two other important executive positions were in contention. A referendum on reduction in the size of its board of directors resulted in a similarly small voter response. Such is the level of participation and interest in our provincial association. - 3/31/2013
