Despite the numerous commercially manufactured medications available, there are still therapeutic gaps that can be addressed through sterile and non-sterile compounding. Pharmacy technicians currently involved or looking to be involved in compounding must have specialized knowledge and training to protect both themselves and their patients in this high-risk practice.
