Seeking motivated pharmacist with sense of adventure

Fort St John Pharmacy & Wellness Centre is a busy independent practice located in the city of Fort St John – the ‘Energetic City - on mile 48 of the Alaska Highway. We require a full-time pharmacist. Our team includes registered pharmacy technicians, pharmacy assistants, and nurses who provide medically focussed footcare as well as wound and ostomy care. We have team members trained to fit compression stockings and we have the equipment and training to do specialty compounding. Our staff have built close relationships with our patients, other healthcare professionals and various health facilities within and around the community. Fort St John and the surrounding area offer opportunities for hiking, downhill and x-country skiing, fishing, camping, and hunting. The community has a range of recreational and cultural facilities and associated clubs.
Many of our staff members are shareholders in the company and this opportunity is open to all employees who meet the requirements.

Responsibilities include:

  • Share dispensary and clinical pharmacy duties with staff pharmacist and registered technician
  • Perform medication reviews and follow-ups in the pharmacy, as well as in the community
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals within the community, as well as within the company

Characteristics and Qualifications of the successful candidate include:
 

  • Licensed and in good standing with the College of Pharmacists in BC
  • Injection-certified
  • Confident prescribing for minor ailments and contraception
  • Completion of CPBC BCPhA Opioid Agonist Treatment Compliance and Management Program for Pharmacy training program as per PPP-66 (can be acquired after hiring)
  • Aptitude to identify and visualize professional practice opportunities
  • Leadership to grow the business and develop fellow members of the team
  • Motivation and commitment to practice full scope in an evidence-based approach, including prescribing for minor ailments and contraception.

Wages
$55-$60/hr for dispensing duties; $65/hr for clinical duties
