Birch Hill Equity Partners says it has signed a deal with McKesson Corp. to buy Rexall Pharmacy Group and online retailer Well.ca.

McKesson has neither confirmed nor denied that it's looking to unload Rexall, which it bought in 2016 for $2.9 billion.

McKesson owns independent pharmacies I.D.A., Guardian, Remedy’sRx, The Medicine Shoppe, Uniprix and Proxim, the Rexall Pharmacy Group and Well.ca.

Pharmacists were sent a fraudulent recall of oxycodone and hydromorphone from an organization that was impersonating McKesson. 

Rx Savings Solutions was founded by a U.S. pharmacist trying to create a solution to customers having to pay high out-of-pocket costs for their medications.

Ritesh Shah Charitable Pharmacy in Red Bank, N.J., offers medications, immunizations, health education and counseling.
